The Bend

The Bend is a creative adaptive reuse project that brings new life to two formerly residential structures in the heart of Raleigh. Muter Construction served as general contractor on this transformative renovation, which thoughtfully blends the buildings into the surrounding neighborhood fabric.

Now home to The Bend Bar and a second location for State of Beer, the project creates a dynamic gathering space that connects downtown Raleigh with the Hillsborough Street corridor. The two buildings are joined by a shared deck and outdoor courtyard featuring firepits, picnic tables and ample room for community interaction.

This project highlights the power of renovation to create placemaking. It not only reimagines the use of existing structures, but also anchors a growing sense of neighborhood identity and community vibrancy.
