New East Elevator Renovation

Muter Construction provided general contracting services for the renovation of four floors of the historic Old East Building to add an ADA-compliant elevator. The scope of work included installation of new interior walls and finishes as well as HVAC, plumbing and electrical work. Because of the historic nature of the structure, temporary shoring was installed to protect the existing 100-year-old columns and floors. Careful planning and coordination with trade partners was required to maintain the integrity of the structure and the existing footings were reinforced to pour the foundation for the new elevator pit. Work was completed while the building remained fully operational.
