Project Description: This project has a total value of approximately $45M and will measure roughly 50,000 SF and include space for research and teaching at the center of App State’s Innovation District. Lord Aeck Sargent leads CBEAR’s design team and will pursue Living Building Challenge (LBC) Core Certification, making it one of the nation’s first academic research facilities built to the rigorous sustainability standards of the Living Building Challenge (LBC) — meaning the building must generate more energy than it uses and be made of materials that are healthy for the environment, with all water captured and treated on site.

Bid Package Release: Bid package release has been postponed as of March 25, 2024.

Submittals for prequalification forms must be submitted electronically. The CMR and Owner reserve the right to reject any and all Prequalification Packages. The contracting method will be through a Competitive Public Bid in accordance with Chapter 143-135.8 of the NC General Statutes.
