Appalachian State University Conservatory for Biodiversity and Educational Research (CBEAR)

Project Description: Muter Construction + Greene Construction (JV Partnership) will seek to prequalify supplier and trade contractors interested in bidding the Conservatory for Biodiversity and Educational Research (CBEAR) at Appalachian State University. This project has a total value of approximately $54M and will measure roughly 40,000 – 50,000 SF and include space for research and teaching at the center of App State’s Innovation District. Lord Aeck Sargent leads CBEAR’s design team and will pursue Living Building Challenge (LBC) Core Certification.

Early Mass Grading Package: Muter + Greene, A Values-Aligned J/V Partnership, is seeking to prequalify contractors to submit bids for furnishing labor, material and equipment for the Mass Grading Package for Appalachian State University’s Housing, Utility Plant, Access Road and CBEAR projects. This project includes clearing and grubbing, erosion control, mass grading, storm drainage and selected utilities for the University’s Innovation District.

Outreach Event: As a JV Partnership with a woman-owned construction firm, we are wholly committed to improving opportunities for minority, women, small and veteran business enterprises through inclusion in our projects. An outreach event for the Early Mass Grading Package will be held on Thursday, April 27 at 10:00 am via ZOOM. This is an opportunity to learn more about our JV and our trade partner philosophy.

Pre-Bid Meeting + Site Visit: A pre-bid meeting and site visit will be held on Thursday, May 9 at 11:00 am at the job site (775 Bodenheimer Dr. Boone, NC 28607).

Bid Due Date + Time: May 31, 2023 bids are due at 11:00 am and will be opened immediately after.
