Howell Building South Updates
The original 1969 complex consists of three separate towers with connectors for a total of approximately 127,794 SF. The complex is composed of classrooms and offices, but it functions primarily as a laboratory building. The lab spaces are isolated and cannot sufficiently support open collaborative research. Howell’s MEP systems are near the end of their useful life. This project is intended to address deferred maintenance throughout including building systems, life safety, accessibility, code compliance and abatement. The North and East towers will remain occupied during construction requiring continuous MEP and network service throughout the project.
