Carroll Hall + Dey Hall Elevator Modernization Updates
Project Description
Carroll Hall (2 Elevators):
This project will replace two elevators in Carroll Hall, built in 1953 and expanded in 1970. Elevator #1618 is a 1200-pound capacity traction elevator with 4 stops that was placed in service in 1953. Elevator #6442 is a 3000 pound capacity traction elevator with 4 stops that was placed in service in 1970. Items to be accomplished are machine room upgrades including new digital controls, cable inspection and/or replacement and traction drive replacement. Cab improvements will be new ADA compliant control panels, door and interior finish upgrades, ADA compliant wall control upgrades on each level, and associated updates for compatibility with current regulations and standards.
Dey Hall (1 Elevator):
This project will also replace one elevator in Dey Hall, built in 1962. Elevator #4576 is a 2000 pound capacity hydraulic elevator with 4 stops that was placed in service in 1962. The original single bottom hydraulic jack was replaced about 10 years ago with a double wall design. Items to be accomplished are machine room upgrades including new digital controls, new hydraulic pump, and test of existing double wall hydraulic jack. Cab improvements will be new ADA compliant control panels, door and interior finish upgrades, ADA compliant wall control upgrades on each level, and associated updates for compatibility with current regulations and standards.
